Daniel is the Executive Director of the ASEAN Alliance of Health Supplement Associations (AAHSA), an accredited Entity Associated with ASEAN. His focus is to help the ASEAN Health Supplement (HS) industry sensibly navigate the complex regulatory landscape and evolving healthcare policies. His primary objective is to facilitate sustainable HS growth in ASEAN for the benefit of consumers and stakeholders while enhancing local economies. Within the ASEAN framework, Daniel actively participates in crucial deliberations, notably representing the industry at ASEAN meetings such as the ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards & Quality for Traditional Medicines and Health Supplements Product Working Group. These engagements are integral to advancing towards a unified and harmonised HS regulatory framework and for achieving sustainable health care across ASEAN. On the global stage, Daniel actively contributes to the International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations by offering insights into HS sustainability directions, e-commerce strategies and the facilitation of regional harmonisation initiatives. Daniel’s noteworthy contributions include his appointment to the Singapore Food Agency's inaugural Advisory Committee on the Evaluation of Health Claims. Additionally he was conferred the title of Honorary President of the Health Supplements Industry Association (Singapore) in 2021, where he provided leadership for 16 years, underscoring his commitment to advancing the interests of the industry. Furthermore, Daniel served as the founding Chairman of AAHSA, leveraging over three decades of expertise acquired from multinational corporations. His extensive background encompasses leadership roles in corporate sustainability, investor relations, regulatory & public affairs, crisis management, and marketing communications. Daniel holds a Master of Business Administration degree from James Cook University (Australia), a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Singapore Institute of Education. An avid runner, he completed his quest to finish all the 6 world major marathons in 2023.
