Mathieu is an authority on probiotics with deep experience as a microbiologist, lecturer and scientific director for digestive and heart health need states for ProActive Health at Kerry. He leads a team of talented scientists dedicated to elucidate the mechanisms of action of probiotic bacteria and to understand the interactions between beneficial microorganisms, the gut microbiome and cells of the gastrointestinal tract. Mathieu is also associate Professor at INRS-Armand-Frappier Institute, a member of the Association of Microbiologists of Quebec and is on the Board of Directors of the International Probiotic Association. Mathieu has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications or book chapters and is the inventor of 3 families of patents.
