Following a distinguished 50-year research career in cardiovascular health and nutrition, Peter is now an Emeritus Professor at the University of Newcastle and holds adjunct chairs at the University of Adelaide and the University of Southern Queensland. He has served on the Medical and Health Sciences Evaluation Committee of Excellence in Research for Australia, as Chair of the TGA’s Advisory Committee for Complementary Medicines and as founding Editor-in-Chief of Nutrients. He is a Fellow of the Nutrition Society of Australia and Emeritus Fellow of the International Society of Hypertension. A recognised authority on health benefits of bioactive nutrients with over 300 publications, his research has underpinned health claims for functional foods and nutraceuticals.
