Keith joined the Welsh Government Senior Civil Service as Deputy Director of Food Division, he developed and led on the Food and Drink strategy ‘Towards Sustainable Growth’ from 2014 to the future vison post 2021 ‘Building on our Success’ in Wales. During this period, He set up the Food and Drink Wales Industry Board, Food Innovation Helix Board, FDF Cymru and AMRC Cymru - the food competence centre - these assets support policy, collaborative business working within an innovative culture linking Welsh Government, industry, and academia. This is based on one of the largest business cluster models establishing Food and Drink Wales- the Food Nation on the international stage. Keith is a veteran of the agri-food and advanced manufacturing industries. He was Founding Director of Food NI, an association of leading agri-food businesses and a past Director of the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association – an association of leading processing businesses. He also spent more than 10 years as Head of Marketing and CEO of the Northern Irish redmeat industry - a levy contributions body. In 2010, Keith formed Polymers NI to develop the industrial advanced manufacturing strategy with Invest NI, industry, and academia, based at Queens University, Belfast. He facilitated the development of wider advanced industry networks and advanced manufacturing hubs (PPRC), a composites competence (NIACE) centre and collaborative networks throughout the UK, EU, and the US.
